We've done the research.
Now the hard work begins.... and I'm still in my Pjs. I love it!
We are starting Homeschool this Fall. My 11 y/o daughter has been in some type of school since she was 8 weeks old. I'm happy to say that I hope she doesn't ever have to go to another cookie cutter school.. until college.
She's excited. I'm excited. And no I have no idea what I'm getting myself into.
Guess that will be the first lesson I learn.... first of many.
I also have a 4 & a 3 y/o that will be in our PJ Club this Fall.
So what I have I done so far???
I have a letter ready of my State so that no one comes around looking for my kids, wondering why they aren't in school.
I have a curriculum guide printed out so I can gauge what each child should be learning and at what time.
I have folders with folders with folders of free worksheets and ideas I've found in the past few months.
I've begun the De-schooling process myself and well as with my oldest.
I've started a 6 month lesson plan with topics that she has chosen to begin with.
Doesn't seem like a whole lot does it?? Well for me it is. We have a great shop here in the area, Homeschool Cottage. The women there are so helpful and knowledgeable. I could easily blow my budget in a heartbeat! I've been thinking about a few books that they carry and I'll probably spring for those soon. I'm so happy to see what's available for Homeschool families.
Since we will still be in the De-schooling phase through the first part of our semester I won't be following a very strict lesson plan at the beginning. Light and fun while hiding at the lessons is the plan. I hope it works.
So this the start of our new adventure. I hope to be able to keep this up to show our projects and all the fun things we have planned.
